Telescope Organization (ETO) is the professional body tasked with coordinating and managing all the processes leading toward building and operating the Einstein Telescope. The ETO Project Office (ETO PO) is operating with a precise mandate. Nevertheless, the present management framework is represented by various organisational bodies representing different stakeholders' interests. Unfortunately, this has not led to convergence on a project structure, and only recently have the missions and correlations of the various bodies been contextualised. This scenario has led the project management team to operate in an extremely complex working environment, where many of the management methodology references are difficult to apply. We will therefore illustrate the complexities we have had to face and, in the most significant cases, the solutions adopted to manage this context.
