Speaker: Valerie Domcke

Moderator: Verena Kain

About speaker: Valerie Domcke graduated 2013 at DESY (Hamburg, Germany) and was a postdoctoral researcher at SISSA (Trieste, Italy) and APC (Paris, France) before coming to CERN TH as a staff scientist in 2020. She is a theoretical physicist most known for her works on early universe cosmology and gravitational waves.

Abstract: The Standard Model of Cosmology describes the evolution of our Universe from a primordial plasma to the night sky we see today. This encompasses energy scales far beyond the reach of current colliders, and thus provides a complementary way to probe particle physics. I will sketch some key results and upcoming prospects of modern cosmology and their connection to our understanding of particle physics..
