Über die hellen funkelnden Wellen tanzen  
Libellen den lustigen Tanz; fröhlich und  
munter, auf und hinunter, schweben und weben  
im sonnigen Glanz.  
Kühlende Lüfte, liebliche Düfte,  
wonniges Wetter und Vogelge- sang;  
gleich den Libellen, über den Wellen schwebt  
unser Nachen das Ufer entlang.  
Blumen und Bäume fliegen wie Träume,  
Alles enteilet und schwindet da- hin;  
doch im Enteilen lassen wir weilen,  
weilen im Herzen den fröhlichen Sinn.
