Learners begin an introduction to the five key components of language study (listening/understanding, speaking, reading, writing, and culture). Task-based instruction emphasizes pronunciation, grammar essentials, basic conversation, and cultural aspects of the people who speak Spanish in the US and around the world. Language skills are reinforced through required individual lab practice.
