# The Inheritors

By Joseph Conrad and Ford Madox Ford.

"The Inheritors" by Joseph Conrad and Ford Madox Ford is a novel published in 1901. Arthur, an aspiring English writer, encounters a mysterious woman who claims to be from the Fourth Dimension—part of a cold, materialistic breed destined to "inherit the earth." As she infiltrates British political circles with dazzling beauty and cunning, Arthur becomes entangled in her Machiavellian schemes involving government corruption and power struggles. Seduced by promises of significance and belonging, he must choose between his ideals and ambition, unaware he's merely a pawn in a larger game. (Summary by Project Gutenberg, written by machine.)
