These seven plates are from a 435-part service owned by Stadtholder William v of Orange. The service was produced in Meissen between 1772 and 1774, possibly on commission for the Dutch East India Company (VOC). The plates bear scenes of various Dutch cities and buildings, as well as views of Java and Ceylon, then important Company territories.
