Water colour. Plantation building on the Coronie, on the sea coast of Suriname. This area was developed by the English and Scots with plantations from 1808, in the English period (1804-1816), Some of them stayed, other plantations were taken over by Dutch planters. It is unknown what plantation this is. We see some sheds and a sluice. Houses at the waterside in Coronie, probably plantation houses.
