Tram (railcar 65) in the Stadthaus 3, Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany The tram system in Münster operated from July 13, 1901, to November 25, 1954. It was run by Stadtwerke Münster. At its peak, it comprised three lines and initially covered 8 kilometers, increasing to 12 kilometers in 1913. The routes ran from the Alter Schützenhof to Warendorfer Straße (yellow line, line 2 from 1925), from Marienplatz to the tram depot on Albersloher Weg (green line, line 3 from 1925) and from Steinfurter Straße through the northern part of the city to the main railway station (red line, line 1 from 1925). For a short time, there was also a fourth line from Marienplatz to Albersloher Weg (green line), which was later taken over by the red line. Only the former Gotha tram motor car 65 has survived in its original form. In 1993, it found its way back to Münster in poor condition and was extensively restored from 2002 onwards by the Association for the Preservation of the Last Tram in Münster, which was founded in the same year. After successful restoration, the car found a home in the courtyard of Stadthaus 3 on September 30, 2013.
