The building's facade of the Amtsgericht Mitte is not of a very inviting appearance, but its interior hides a true masterpiece of the architectural style of the Vienna Secession. The Neo-Baroque building, erected from 1896 to 1905, was design by Paul Themer and Mönnich Rudolf, but its final form is the work of Otto Schmalz.
