“The Strip” (part of the Las Vegas Boulevard) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA The Las Vegas Strip is the most famous section of Las Vegas Boulevard in Las Vegas. It stretches for around 6.8 kilometers south of downtown and is world-famous for its spectacular hotels, casinos, and neon signs. Its development began in the 1940s with the construction of large resort hotels such as the Flamingo Las Vegas. In the following decades, ever larger themed hotels were built, including the Bellagio with its famous water features and the Roman-style Caesars Palace. The Strip stands for entertainment in XXL format: casinos, shows, concerts, luxury shopping, and elaborate architecture characterize the scene. Many buildings feature international motifs – from Egyptian pyramids to the Eiffel Tower. Today, the Las Vegas Strip is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the USA and a symbol of glamour, gambling and night-time lights in the Nevada desert.
