To my knowledge, this is the very first image of the Orion Nebula processed in this manner.

This multiband study of the Orion Nebula covered the near infrared, red, green, and blue bands along with H-alpha and \[O III\] emission. This image was assembled by adding infrared data to the red image channel, red data to the green image channel, and green data to the blue image channel. H-alpha and \[O III\] emissions were then continuum subtracted from the relevant color data (red in the case of H-alpha, green and blue in the case of \[O III\]), and added back linearly to increase the emission contribution, thus using all data acquired in the project. The resulting HaIR(G+B)OIII palette reveals cool stars and stars extinguished by dust in red, hydrogen emission in green, and oxygen emission combined with reflection nebulosity in blue.
