Kawagarbo, is the highest peak of Meili Snow Mountain (standard name Taizi (Prince) Snow Mountains), which rises to 6,740 metres, and holds the highest point of Yunnan Province, China. It is located at the border between Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and Zayu County, Nyingchi City, Tibet Autonomous Region, China, and constitutes an important component of the UNESCO World Heritage site Three Parallel Rivers of Yunnan Protected Areas. Kawagarbo has not been successfully summited. In 1991, a joint Chinese–Japanese mountaineering expedition suffered a fatal accident on Kawagarbo, resulting in the deaths of all 17 team members. This picture shows the eastern face of Kawagarbo, photographed at sunrise on 10 May 2025 from the Feilai Temple Viewing Platform in Deqin County.
