The mantapa of the Hoysaleswara Temple at Halebidu is a large, open pillared hall that serves as the main congregational space for devotees. It is supported by lathe-turned pillars, a hallmark of Hoysala craftsmanship, which are polished, symmetrical, and precisely shaped using a lathe technique to create uniform cylindrical forms with intricate fluting and decorative motifs.
