The bronze sculpture "Sfera grande" (Large sphere), depicted here, is a subject out of ordinary, a perfect figure, energy emanating from a form. It may symbolize the complexity of planet Earth or a world breaking apart to reveal its interior, but it also represents a metaphor for the human mind, highlighted in its inner workings: Many people wear a mask in their daily lives, which sooner or later is destined to show itself, revealing the complex workings of our being and our human vulnerability. This was the belief of its creator, one of the leading exponents of contemporary Italian sculpture, Arnaldo Pomodoro (1926–2025).
