This was JAL flight 15, departing from LAX runway 25R on 15 October 2021. I was not paying much attention and was conversing with people at the viewing area at Imperial Hill. But I caught the smoke out of the corner of my eye and quickly got this shot. The plane circled near Catalina Island for about 45 minutes then safely landed back at LAX on runway 25L.
