A female of the Variable Damselfly (Coenagrion pulchellum) in the Ahlenmoor, a peatland in northern Lower Saxony, Germany. In addition to the large variance in the drawing pattern of the female Coenagrion pulchellum, this occurs in two color options, here the rare green-blue, instead of the pure blue color. A unique feature for determination is the deeply incised, W-bordered pronotum, which is arched in a characteristic shape. Note from Charlesjsharp This is not a rare form, it colouring typical of a young adult.
