Thomson's gazelle (Eudorcas thomsonii), Amboseli National Park, Kenya. Named after British explorer Joseph Thomson, this is the most common type of gazelle in East Africa with numbers over 200,000. It's claimed to have top speeds up to 80–90 km/h (50–55 mph), making it the fourth-fastest land animal, after the cheetah (its main predator), pronghorn, and springbok.
