Winter scenery near Lake Helen in Lassen Volcanic National Park, in the early morning of June 18, 2022. The picture shows the National Park after a fresh layer of snow coated the landscape the day before. Clouds are moving in from Brokeoff Mountain (on the left). On the right hand side, Mount Diller and Pilot Pinnacle. The alpine Lake Helen, nestled at the base of Lassen Peak at an elevation of 8,169 feet, is still covered in snow and ice. Image taken from an elevated part of California State Route 89, which runs through the park.
